Our super cute AirBnB rental!
Eighty Eight Café.
The other week Ben and I decided to go on a little one night adventure to Tauranga. On the way (well, not really on the way - but worth the detour) we stopped at Wairere Falls, which is the highest waterfall on the North Island at 153 meters high! As most people know I am obsessed with waterfalls, so seeing this waterfall was a dream. It was a 45 minute walk to the the falls, and as you can see by the photos the walk there was so beautiful too!! (Just a little side note - DON'T come to these falls needing to go to the bathroom - the bathroom, if you can even call it that, quite possibly scarred me for life haha!!)
We used AirBnB for the first time and we had such a good first experience! We got a sleep out on someones property for only $60, it was SO cute, clean, and had everything we needed.
The next day we did the Mount walk and seriously I couldn't believe how many people were RUNNING the track when I was literally puffed just walking it.... Anyway, I can see why so many people have done the walk/run - it's so beautiful!
On the way home we drove past McLaren Falls and when it says 'two minute walk' they actually mean the waterfall is quite literally IN the carpark.
You will not be short of things to do in and around Tauranga. I will definitely go back another time to see the rest of the waterfalls in this area :)
