Another West Coast beauty! I had been wanting to do this walk for awhile and I am so glad I finally did it a couple of weeks ago. West Coast walks will probably always be my favourite - there is nothing quite like the rugged beauty!
Thing's to know:
Last year I wrote a post about how I planned to come to Mahurangi Regional Park but somehow ended up in Scandrett Regional Park, haha! Well, six months later I actually made it to Mahurangi Regional Park. It is so beautiful! I couldn't believe I hadn't come here sooner, especially considering how close it is to my house!
This park had green hills for days, sparking seas views and fresh crisp air. The thing I liked about the walking tracks here, is you can just custom make your walking path. You can do a whole loop track or part of two different ones. We basically did a big loop of the whole park (I am not even sure what tracks we took). On the drive down (before we got to the beach/park) we saw an entrance at the top of a hill and just started there, pictured in the photo above. I was once again blown away by how magical New Zealand is!
Fairy Falls, located in the Waitakere Ranges, is nothing short of amazing. It is one of those places that you go to and literally feel overwhelmed by the beauty of it. I could come here a hundred times and still be ‘wowed.’
It consists of two part’s, the lower fall’s and then the upper falls, which is a series of smaller waterfalls. It’s amazing walking down the track and seeing several smaller falls, amongst lush bush.
Things to know:
Recently Ben and I went to Rotorua to celebrated one year of marriage! Okay, I know what your thinking - Rotorua?? That does not sound like a romantic destination at all! But let me tell you, after spending four days there I was blown away by not only how beautiful the place is but how much there is to do! When I initially started doing research on what to do I was overwhelmed. From hot springs to tree walks, you will NOT be bored there!
